The series of takeovers has been curated to offer an ‘authentic taste of Mexico’s culture’, and will coincide with International Margarita Day (22 February).

The events will take place in some of Scotland’s ‘most innovative bars’, including The Voyage of Buck, Uno Mas and El Cartel in Edinburgh, as well as The Gate, West Side Tavern, and Dockyard Social in Glasgow.

The Voyage of Buck has developed a special taco menu featuring dishes that have been designed to complement the flavour profile of the Margarita cocktail, made with Patrón Silver Tequila.

Tacos include lamb shoulder with Greek yoghurt; and feta cheese and butternut squash, drizzled in red chilli oil.

Patròn Tequila UK brand ambassador Gianluca Pavenello Canella will also be hosting a dinner and tasting on 15 March.

At Uno Mas, guests will be able to enjoy a menu of cocktails including the Elderflower and Cucumber Margarita, which combines Patrón Silver Tequila, St-Germain liqueur, cucumber, lime, and sugar.

The 2022 winner of Patrón Perfectionists, Max Macauley, will do a guest shift at Edinburgh’s Hoot the Redeemer on 15 March, with competition finalist Ellie Raeside.

Macauley said: “I will also be doing a guest shift at Present Company in Liverpool on 5 March alongside my other Perfectionist finalist, Christopher George.”

Patrón’s Margarita-inspired activations in Scotland will be in action throughout February and March.

From 22 February to 22 March, consumers can enjoy curated Margarita menus at Edinburgh bars including: Hamilton’s; The Voyage of Buck; El Cartel Teviot; Bar Prince at The Balmoral; The Blackbird; East Finch; Voodoo Rooms; Vesta; The Lioness of Leith; The Broughton; Uno Mass; El Cartel Roxburgh Place; and Hoot The Redeemer.

Furthermore, Glasgow bars that will be offering exclusive Margarita Month cocktails include: Dockyard Social; The Gate; Tabac; Absent Ear; El Jefe’s; Ralph & Finns; El Santos; El Camino; The Locale; West Side Tavern; Kelvingrove Café; The Parlour; Devil of Brooklyn; and Gaga.

Patròn recently teamed up with two Michelin-starred chef Tom Sellers to create Mexican small plates that pair ‘perfectly’ with Margaritas, which will be available at a selection of bars in London.
