Koloa Rum partners with NFL team
Hawaii-based Koloa Rum Company has collaborated with National Football League (NFL) team Las Vegas Raiders to create a limited edition bottling.
The partners have produced Kauai Reserve Five-Year Single-Barrel Aged Rum, along with a commemorative bottle and box.
The launch honours the 45th anniversary of the Las Vegas Raiders’ first World Championship against Minnesota in 1977.
“As the official premium rum of the Las Vegas Raiders, we’re honoured to partner with this legendary organisation in creating this special commemorative bottle, celebrating the 45th anniversary of their historic World Championship win,” said Bob Gunter, president and CEO of Koloa Rum Company.
“This exciting collaboration marks our first commemorative product release – momentous for Koloa Rum Company – and we’re happy that we can bring the spirit of Aloha to Raiders fans on the ninth island.”
Koloa Rum Company has been the official ultra-premium rum of the Las Vegas Raiders since 2021.
The bottling was unveiled on Saturday 7 January, before the Raiders game against Kansas City, by Gunter, Christian Howard, vice-president of corporate partnerships for the Las Vegas Raiders, and Frank Kibbish, regional sales manager of Koloa Rum Company.
“The Raiders thank the Koloa Rum Company for recognising and honouring our first of three World Championship victories with this commemorative product release,” said Raiders president Sandra Douglass Morgan.
Only 300 bottles will be released, and available exclusively in the state of Nevada for RRP US$159.99.
The Kauai Reserve Single-Barrel Hawaiian Rum is crafted in single batches and aged for five years.
Koloa Rum is distilled from Hawaiian cane sugar, then aged in charred American white oak barrels at the brand’s distillery.
Las Vegas Raiders teamed up with Tequila brand 1800 in October 2022, to bring a tailgate experience and two branded cocktails to Allegiant Stadium in Nevada.
The rum brand launched its first aged expression, called Kauai Reserve Three-Year Aged Hawaiian Rum, in 2018.
