A de Fussigny unveils plant-based bottle
Cognac brand A de Fussigny has created a 100% plant-based bottle as part of its ‘bold’ environmental vision.
The Cognac brand said it has been integrating the plant-based bottle, made with polylactic acid (PLA), into its spirits portfolio since November 2022.
A de Fussigny has released its Cognac and new single estate organic vodka in the plant-based bottle.
The 200ml bottle was made in France by Lys Packaging using plant residues.
It is industrially compostable and does not contain a single drop of oil, the brand said.
Thomas Gonon, managing director of the Cognac brand, said: “Durable, solid, reusable, made from plant material, this new product development is part of a zero-waste approach and allows everyone to act for the environment, little by little. By reducing waste consumption, you help protect the planet.”
The format is described as a lightweight and ‘virtuous’ alternative to traditional, heavier bottles.
The Cognac producer aims to be a ‘leader’ in natural spirits with the lowest carbon footprint.
Last year, the Cognac house released its 2050 Organic Cognac in a Green Gen plant-based bottle.
In February 2022, A de Fussigny created its Pure Organic range, which includes VS, VSOP and XO bottlings.
