TFWA reveals conference and workshop programme
The Tax Free World Association (TFWA) has unveiled the conference and workshop programme for its event in October this year.
The annual event is returning to Cannes in France from 2 to 6 October, and will be hosted at the Palais des Festivals.
The conference and workshop programme will feature industry leaders and consumer experts to provide information on the key trends shaping duty free and travel retail in the post-pandemic era.
“This year’s TFWA World Conference will explore the factors that will define business in the post-pandemic world, from pressures on the global economy to changing consumer behaviour,” said Erik Juul-Mortensen, TFWA president.
“Our programme of speakers features experts in their fields who will provide fresh perspectives on the challenges and opportunities ahead.”
The conference will take place from 9am-11:45am CET on Monday 3 October, at the Grand Auditorium of the Palais des Festivals.
Opening with an address from Juul-Mortensen, the conference will also feature talks from David McWilliams, professor of global economics at Trinity College Dublin, and Raymond Cloosterman, founder and CEO of Rituals Cosmetics, who will address brand-building in a changing world.
Juul-Mortensen added: “We are also pleased to restore our programme of workshops, which this year will feature senior executives from some of the world’s leading airports, in addition to the innovators that are finding new ways to improve the ways we sell to travellers.
“I am very much looking forward to these sessions and look forward to welcoming the global industry to Cannes.”
A workshop titled The Airport Forum will run on Tuesday 4 October. Speakers will include Heathrow Airport retail and property director Fraser Brown; Incheon International Airport corporation director of the duty free management team Sung Bin Im; and chief digital and commercial officer of Istanbul Airport Ersin Inankul.
An Innovation in Action workshop will run on Wednesday 5 October with speakers Morten Pankoke, Intelligent Track System founder and CEO; and the founder and CEO of Inflyter, Wassim Saadé.
Both can be found at the I5 studio inside the Palais des Festivals.
