Nico de Soto joins Thomas Ashbourne

Ready-to-drink (RTD) cocktail brand Thomas Ashbourne Craft Spirits has welcomed Nico de Soto to the team as its creative director.

The RTD cocktail brand launched at the beginning of summer 2022, and is backed by celebrity co-founders, including Sarah Jessica Parker, John Cena and Vanessa Hudgens.

De Soto, from Paris in France, began his bartending career in 2005. He honed his craft in Australia before returning to Paris where he secured positions at Parisian cocktail bars the Experimental Cocktail Club, and Curio Parlor.

In 2010, he moved to Dram and PKNY (formerly Painkiller) in New York in the US, before opening the New York and London outposts of the Experimental Cocktail Club.

Other notable milestones in de Soto’s career include working at 69 Colebrooke Row and Happiness Forgets in London, the former of which was named ‘Best Bar in the World’ at Tales of the Cocktail in 2013.

Products within the Thomas Ashbourne Craft Spirits range include The Perfect Cosmo by SJP (Sarah Jessica Parker) (20% ABV), which comes in a can or bottle.

Cena fronts The Old Fashioned, which sits at 25% ABV.

Hudgens, Ashley Benson and Rosario Dawson are the faces of The Margalicious Margarita, which also sits at 20% ABV.

Meanwhile, Playboi Carti is linked to The Hardscatto, said to have flavours of Muscat Blanc grapes, ripe peach, elderflower, and extra fizz to ‘wake up the palate’.
