The Voodoo range of whiskies joins a growing portfolio from Brave New Spirits

Smuggler will distribute the Glasgow-based bottler’s Connoisseur’s Department range of whiskies, including the producer’s Whisky of Voodoo series.

The Whisky of Voodoo collection comprises four single malts, one single grain and one blended malt whisky. All six expressions carry an age statement and have been matured or finished in wine casks.

The range recently launched through specialist partners in the UK, Germany, the Netherlands, Poland, Japan and South Korea.

The Voodoo range of whiskies joins a growing portfolio from Brave New Spirits, which also includes whiskies Celtic Revival and The Highland Shepherd Single Malt, both of which received Gold medals at the 2022 Scotch Whisky Masters.

The Highland Shepherd Single Malt was commended for being “subtle and malty on the nose with cereal notes”, while “soft and floral” notes were picked up on the Celtic Revival bottling.

The company will soon launch its next series of single cask whiskies under the Cask Noir banner.

The Scotch whisky category recently secured a certification trademark in the US – the category’s largest global market. The US is now among more than 100 countries where ‘Scotch whisky’ has been granted specific legal protection, according to the Scotch Whisky Association (SWA).

The global malt whisky market is expected to reach a value of US$6.7 billion by 2031, according to data collated by Allied Market Research.
