The Adult Non-Alcoholic Beverage Association (ANBA) was established in North America and is now expanding to the UK and Europe.

It aims to solve the lack of universal regulations, improve guidelines for international trade and market expansion, and provide a central entity for consumers, retailers, suppliers and complementary industries.

Founding members of ANBA UK/Europe include Lyre’s, Thomson & Scott Noughty, Savyll, Ish Spirits, Drop Bear Beers, Mocktails, Lucky Saint, Big Drop Brewing, and Mindful Brands.

Mark Livings, Lyre’s co-founder and ANBA board chair, said: “Non-alcoholic drinks founders have universally recognised that together they are stronger.

“With market share growing faster than regulation, this new ANBA UK/EU chapter has an important task to ensure regulatory landscapes remain fair and give consumers confidence in the quality of the products our members offer.

“With a united voice through ANBA, we will bring stronger relevance, acceptance and sustainable growth to our rapidly developing share of the global drinks industry.”

The ANBA was formed to support the growth of the alcohol-alternative category, with non-alcoholic adult drinks forecast to grow to US$30 billion by 2025, according to Nielsen IQ.

The UK/Europe arm of the association will work with the North American segment to create a ‘paradigm shift’ in the non-alcoholic category and change the way people view the sector globally.

Amanda Thomson, CEO and Founder Thomson & Scott, added: The timing of ANBA’s launch is perfect. To date, the alcohol-free producers who are becoming increasingly relevant in the global drinks market have not had a voice.

“Instead, the big alcohol producers have spoken for us. This platform gives us the much-needed opportunity to put our flag in the sand on the issues that matter. It’s a game-changer.”
