Healthy Hospo needs £10,000 to survive

Not-for-profit organisation Healthy Hospo has launched a Go Fund Me campaign to raise £10,000 (US$13,600) to help continue to support the on-trade.

Avallen Calvados co-founder Tim Etherington-Judge launched Healthy Hospo in 2018 to help improve the health and wellness of hospitality workers.

The organisation has provided support and training to workers through educational programmes and its new digital platform, described as a first for the hospitality industry.

The money raised from the campaign is needed to ensure the organisation can survive, and continue to aid on-trade professionals and businesses around the world – particularly during the pandemic.

The funds will be put towards free access to Healthy Hospo’s wellbeing training app, which includes lessons on stress and anxiety, sleep and finance.

It will also be used to support the mental health of hospitality workers and help on-trade businesses during their time of need.

The organisation said the picture was ‘very bleak’ for hospitality venues and workers, as they navigate Covid-19 restrictions and a drop in profit.

Etherington-Judge said: “We have watched our partners, our friends and the industry we all love go through the most challenging time any of us can remember.

“Since the pandemic arrived, we’ve done everything we can to support the industry including launching the first dedicated health and wellbeing-focused training app. Yet despite our best efforts, the industry is not OK, and as a result, Healthy Hospo is not OK either.”
