Anders Polvsen, founder of Scottish conservation organisation Wildland and the largest shareholder in online fashion company Asos, has contributed the majority of the funding.

The Scottish alcohol-free ‘spirit’ is the brainchild of Jamie Wild and Bill Garnock, who together have more than a decade of experience in the global spirits market. The product was launched in 2019 and is made with 14 botanicals, including seaweed, bay leaf and chamomile.

The funds will be used to accelerate growth and expand the company’s presence domestically and globally.

The investment will help the company to develop its operations in Fife from a nursery to a distillery and brand home, expand distribution, grow the direct-to-consumer business, complete B Corp certification and invest in the team.

Furthermore, the company will develop purpose-led marketing activities through partnership and experiences.

Wild said: “This is a landmark moment for Feragaia and we are looking forward to driving the business to the next stage. It is a great opportunity to realise our ambition to break free from the expectations of what alcohol free should look and taste like, to cut out the superficial and reconnect discerning drinkers to ‘wild Earth’.”

The brand is available in 350 on- and off-trade outlets across the UK, including Harrods, The Dorchester and Ocado. Feragaia is priced at RRP £24.95 (US$33.70) per 500ml bottle.
