Smirnoff adds new flavour to seltzer range

Diageo has expanded its Smirnoff Seltzer line with the launch of a mango and passionfruit flavour.

Each can from Smirnoff’s hard seltzer range contains 72 calories

In June last year, Diageo jumped on the hard seltzer trend as it took the US by storm, and launched Smirnoff’s two-flavour range in the UK.

The latest addition to the range, Smirnoff Seltzer Mango and Passionfruit, will join Smirnoff’s line of vodka-based seltzers unveiled last summer – the ‘subtly sweet’ Smirnoff Seltzer Raspberry and Rhubarb, and the ‘zesty citric’ Smirnoff Seltzer Orange and Grapefruit. All three cans sit at 4.7% ABV.

The mango and passionfruit sip is made up of Smirnoff No. 21 Premium Vodka, sparkling water and natural fruit.

Anna Sablovscaia, Smirnoff’s senior brand manager, said: “Smirnoff has a long legacy of innovation, so we’re thrilled to add this delicious new mango and passionfruit flavour to the existing portfolio of our seltzers.

“Made with the world’s number one vodka, Smirnoff Seltzers are an alternative to beer or wine for a summer sundowner, perfect for enjoying with friends while capturing the essence of summer.”

Each 250ml can in the range contains 72 calories.

Smirnoff Seltzers are available in a single-flavour four-pack from Tesco and Supervalu stores in the UK for RRP €10 (US$12.17).
