Havana Club releases Tributo 2021 rum

Pernod Ricard has unveiled Havana Club Tributo 2021, the sixth instalment in a limited edition rum collection.

Havana Club Tributo 2021 is available in 13 global markets for an RRP of €400 (US$475)

The 2021 edition of the Havana Club Tributo Collection was finished in wood-aged white port casks from the Douro Valley, Portugal.

The Tributo series was launched in 2016 to celebrate the ‘unrivalled excellence’ of Cuban rum.

Bottled at 40% ABV, the rum was crafted by Havana Club’s master of Cuban rum, Asbel Morales.

Morales said: “Havana Club Tributo 2021 is an aromatic, smooth rum that uncovers the art and charm of Cuba with every sip.

“This year’s edition celebrates a step change within the series that showcases the craftsmanship and expertise at Havana Club, from distillation and ageing to the final blend.”

The expression was produced with reserves from previous Tributo releases, blended with a rum taken from a batch of 100 exclusive casks that have never been made available commercially.

The resulting expression offers notes of grapes, nuts, and coffee.

The series marked its fifth anniversary last year with the release of the 2020 expression – of which only 2,500 bottles were made available globally.

Anne Martin, marketing director at Havana Club, added: “We are delighted to introduce the sixth edition of our highly coveted Tributo Collection, expertly crafted using some of the most precious rum reserves from the Havana Club cellars.

“This is the ultimate collector’s range, and communicates the authentic story and history surrounding Cuban rum production.”

The Havana Club Tributo 2021 is available in 13 international markets, retailing at €400 (US$475).
