Brown-Forman names Estonia and Latvia importer

Jack Daniel’s owner Brown-Forman has appointed Liviko as its importer in Estonia and Latvia.

Liviko will import Brown-Forman brands such as Jack Daniel’s Tennessee whiskey and Finlandia Vodka in Estonia and Latvia. The partnership will be effective from 1 January 2021.

“We are pleased to partner with Liviko to distribute our premium product portfolio,” said Krzysztof Matenko, general manager, developing Europe/Eastern Europe for Brown-Forman. “We look forward to working closely together to continue to grow our brands in Estonia and Latvia.

“We are confident we have found an ambitious company to develop our brands, which are enjoying rapid growth across all key global spirits markets.”

Jack Daniel’s, Finlandia and single malt Scotch whiskies Benriach, Glendronach and Glenglassaugh are well known in Estonia and Latvia, Liviko said.

Janek Kalvi, Liviko CEO, said: “The partnership with Brown-Forman is an important and long-awaited step for Liviko to complement our international premium product portfolio. For Liviko, as an ambitious importer and distributor, representing Brown-Forman brands is both a landmark and a recognition of our work so far.”

Liviko represents a number of producers in its home markets, including Rémy Cointreau, Bacardi, Nemiroff vodka and mixer brand Fentimans.

Headquartered in Tallinn, Estonia, Liviko was established in 1898. The company also has distribution offices in Riga, Latvia, and Vilnius, Lithuania. The firm employs more than 270 people and is one of the largest alcohol companies in the Baltics.

Brown-Forman recently reported a 1% drop in sales during the first half of fiscal 2021 as struggling vodka sales offset increases for Tequila and American whiskey.
