The auction for the distillery’s purchase took place on 15 October. Nemyriv distillery was the first of around 80 sites to be privatised after almost 30 years of state monopoly for alcohol production in Ukraine.
The acquisition means Nemiroff will be able to take control of the quality of ingredients, alcohol and final products produced at the facility.

Furthermore, the Nemyriv alcohol distillery sits just a few hundred metres from the Nemiroff Vodka site, providing additional logistical advantages for the company.
Yuriy Sorochinskiy, CEO of Nemiroff Vodka, said: “We are proud to finally be able to contribute to the integrity of the brand and restore its glorious heritage. Nemiroff Vodka has won the trust and loyalty of millions of consumers around the world through high-quality standards and bold tastes.
“The company diligently approaches both the technological process and the selection of ingredients, so after privatisation we plan to raise the quality of alcohol to a new level that meets global standards.”
Nemyriv Distillery was established in 1752. The old building can still be seen next to the new alcohol distillery, which is where the Nemiroff story began.
