William Grant to host #StandFast Charity Auction

Glenfiddich owner William Grant & Sons will host an online auction featuring more than 300 lots to raise money for two charities, The Drinks Trust and The Ben in Scotland.

The Balvenie Morgan vintage-style car will feature in the #StandFast charity auction

The #StandFast Charity Auction will take place online via Whisky.Auction from 19-28 July, and will be hosted by William Grant & Sons’ brands, including Hendrick’s Gin, Glenfiddich, The Balvenie, Monkey Shoulder, Sailor Jerry, Tullamore Dew, Drambuie, Reyka Vodka and more.

Items set to be auctioned include rare and aged spirits, virtual and in-person experiences and at-home cocktail-making essentials. There is even an exclusive Morgan vintage-style car up for grabs.

Other experiences include a visit to the Hendrick’s Gin Palace in Scotland with master distiller Leslie Gracie and the chance to join malt master David Stewart MBE at The Balvenie blending lab.

There will also be a raffle prize to win an at-home cocktail party with the Monkey Shoulder mixer truck.

Ross Carter, CEO of The Drinks Trust, said: “This auction comes at a time where the drinks and hospitality industry is in need of assistance more than ever.

“We are truly grateful to William Grant & Sons for creating this one-of-a-kind #StandFast charity auction, which is set to deliver much needed support to our industry, which has been affected by the pandemic like no other.”

Both charities will use the money raised to offer “significant” financial, vocational and mental health support to hospitality workers who have been affected by the Covid-19 pandemic.

All auction items will be available to preview from 15 July. It costs £5 (US$6.20) to register to bid, which will go towards the total donation to The Drinks Trust and The Ben.

Chris Gardner, CEO of The Ben in Scotland, said: “It’s heart-warming to have received so much support from leading spirits brands for workers who’ve seen significant impacts to their livelihoods. We are grateful to see such best-loved brands stepping up and bringing our community together in such a time of need.”
