For those who want to enjoy new and interesting spirits, there are a wealth of stand-out subscriptions promising to build up impressive drinks cabinets and allowing consumers to explore new flavours.
Spanning gin, whisky, vodka, rum, mezcal and Tequila, there is an array of exclusive samples available for those who want to get experimental in the comfort of their own homes.

Flaviar
Launched in 2017, membership club Flaviar aims to be the “go-to source for people discovering the world of fine spirits”.
Every quarter, members will receive a premium full-sized bottle and a tasting box (worth US$40), which contains three 50ml samples, a Flaviar branded concrete coaster, and tasting notes and facts on each of the drinks.
Flaviar currently ships to all European Union countries and the US. Tasting boxes and bottles are shipped for free.
An annual membership costs £250 (US$295), or a quarterly membership costs £75 (US$88).
Craft Gin Club
Described as the UK’s number one gin subscription service, the Craft Gin Club offers a variety of memberships for juniper lovers across the nation.
Every box comes with a full-sized bottle of gin, tonic water and garnish, Cocktail of the Month ingredients, sweet and savoury treats, and a 56-page glossy club magazine. The club offers limited and exclusive editions not available everywhere else.
A monthly, bi-monthly or quarterly membership costs £40 (US$47) each. The club is also offering 30% off your first box online with code ‘APRIL30’.
The Craft Gin Club secured an investment of £75,000 (US$98,500) on BBC television series Dragons’ Den in 2016.
The Dram Club
Online spirits retailer Master of Malt launched The Dram Club in 2017, a monthly UK postal subscription service from its Drinks by the Dram concept.
Developed to enable consumers to “explore the world of fine spirits”, each month subscribers receive five different 30ml samples of gin, rum or whisky.
New members will receive a Welcome Pack containing two Master of Malt crystal tasting glasses, and a free gift after three, six and 12 months as a subscriber.
A monthly gin membership is priced at £24.95 (US$29.40), while a whisky or rum monthly membership costs £29.95 (US$35.30) each.
Whisky-Me
The founder behind London-based whisky bar Black Rock launched its Whisky-Me subscription service in 2017.
The club, which aims to create a “digital whisky community”, offers whisky fans pouches of “rare and exclusive” single malts.
Every month, subscribers will receive a 50ml pouch of whisky selected by Black Rock founders Thomas Aske and Tristan Stephenson. The drams have been selected to demonstrate the diversity of Scotch and although it will be a surprise each month, subscribers can expect whiskies from The Macallan, Royal Lochnagar and Aberfeldy.
The Whisky-Me subscriptions start at £7 (US$9) per month.
Maguey Melate
Mezcal lovers can sign up to a new bi-monthly subscription service delivering rare samples that are unavailable elsewhere in the US.
Online agave spirits retailer Maguey Melate will post two limited edition 375ml bottles of agave spirits to subscribers every two months as part of its Mezcalero of the Month Club subscription service.
In addition to the specially released spirits, Mezcalero of the Month Club subscribers will receive information about each bottling, the producer, and access to photos and videos explaining each expression.
Priced at US$115 every two months, the subscription also includes a donation to Mexico-based charity Sacred, which will plant one maguey tobala agave plant for each subscriber.
Maguey Melate also offers the Melate’s Signature Box for agave spirits fans who aren’t able to subscribe for regular deliveries.
Shots Box
US-based Shots Box will send subscribers 10 unusual spirit samples every month and aims to connect craft distilleries with drinks fans in 41 states across the US,
In addition to their samples, subscribers will receive recipe cards containing cocktail ideas and suggested serves.
After tasting their spirit samples each month, imbibers will be able to purchase full-sized bottles directly from Shots Box.
Subscription to Shots Box costs US$39.99 per month.
The W Club
UK drinks retailer The Whisky Shop offers its W Club subscription service, which provides consumers with three membership types.
The themed Explorer Safari option, priced at £24.99 (US$29.40) per month, sees two 100ml whisky samples delivered by post and is described as “perfect for sharing”.
Whisky fans can also join the W Club for £30 (US$35) a year, which offers exclusive access to members-only bottlings, tasting events and offers in store and online.
The membership also includes a subscription to the Whiskeria magazine, priority notice of rare and limited releases and members-only competitions.
A Luxury Membership includes all of the above features, as well as a copy of Jim Murray’s latest Whisky Bible, a Glencairn tasting glass, and a whisky miniature. The membership is priced at £50 (US$59).
Taster’s Club
Founded in 2012, Taster’s Club sends US subscribers an interesting 750ml bottle of spirit each month along with information about each product.
The club offers nine membership types depending on what your preferred tipple is. It offers subscription services for whiskey, Bourbon, Scotch, Tequila, gin, rum, vodka and wine. Those who can’t decide can choose the Stock the Bar option, which will see a different type of spirit sent every month.
US-based Taster’s Club was acquired by private equity firm Sure Swift Capital in 2018.
Membership starts at US$44 per month.
Summerton Whisky Club
Established in 2018, UK-based Summerton Whisky Club offers an array of drams including single malts, blended malts, grains, Bourbons and ryes.
Membership costs £50 (US$59) per delivery. Deliveries are made in February, April, June, August, October and December. Shipping is free to the UK, and consumers in most European countries can also sign up for an additional £10 (US$12) post and packaging fee.
The club aims to offer value for money, as well as Summerton Club-exclusive bottlings that are not available in certain markets.
White Possum
White Possum was created in October 2014 to support and promote Australian-made spirits and their producers.
The Melbourne-based subscription service offers three membership types: Random Scamperer, Gin Guzzler and Pickled Possum.
Random Scamperer is described as a “lucky dip for adults” and includes one bottle of spirit and a card with tasting notes and facts. It is priced at AU$59 (US$35) per box.
Gin Guzzler members will receive a bottle of Australian gin for AU$69 (US$41) per box, while Pickled Possum subscribers will receive both a Random Scamperer box and a Gin Guzzler box for AU$129 (US$77).
In the UK, White Possum also offers an Australian gin flight and an Australian whisky flight. The one-off tasting sets contain 12x30ml bottles and tasting notes.
