Ramsbury virtual tip jar supports on-trade

Grain-to-glass distillery Ramsbury has launched a scheme to allow drinkers to buy vouchers for their favourite on-trade venues and will match each purchase with a virtual tip for the bar or restaurant.

As part of the Ramsbury & Friends scheme the distiller will donate virtual tips to venues

The Ramsbury & Friends initiative will allow imbibers to purchase drinks vouchers for a bar or restaurant of their choice, which can be redeemed once venues reopen following the coronavirus pandemic.

The value of each voucher bought through the scheme will be matched by the English distillery, with Ramsbury donating a virtual tip to the bar and restaurants vouchers are purchased for.

Global brand ambassador at Ramsbury, Mikul Kalyan, said: “It’s fair to say we are living through uncertain times, and the great and good of the British on-trade are also finding themselves and their livelihoods under sudden threat.

“Now, more than ever is the time for brands and consumers to pull together as one community to support those in need. This initiative aims to do exactly that; through helping to ease the burden on bar owners immediately and guaranteeing future footfall.”

The scheme intends to support the on-trade in both the short term and long term; the funds will go to bar owners immediately, and the redeemable voucher will help to drive footfall when venues reopen.

Vouchers purchased through Ramsbury & Friends will be valid until 31 December 2020.

UK bars and restaurants were ordered to close as part of strict social-distancing guidelines implemented to stem the spread of coronavirus. As the on-trade struggles through the pandemic, SB recently outlined steps drinkers can take to support their favourite venues.
