Paul John debuts Nirvana single malt whisky

Indian whisky producer John Distilleries has released a new Paul John single malt, called Nirvana.

Nirvana whisky is targeted at consumers who are keen to try single malts for the first time

The 40% ABV Nirvana is an unpeated expression, created from Indian six-row barley and matured in charred American oak casks.

Like the rest of the Paul John range, Nirvana is made without any added flavours or colouring.

The new whisky is said to have “soft aromas of caramel, Bourbon and fruitcake” and “flavours of succulent vanilla and sweet honeycomb [that] enhance the sublime and honeyed finish”.

“Nirvana is an expression for those willing and keen to experience single malts, especially for the first time,” said chairman Paul P John. “Its exotic richness is sure to captivate whisky connoisseurs and amateurs equally.”

Nirvana is available to buy in Belgium, France, Germany, the Netherlands and Poland, as well as Goa and Maharashtra in India. It has been priced at RRP £30 (US$38) in the UK. The whisky will soon launch in additional countries.

In October 2017, Sazerac entered the Indian whisky market with the purchase of an equity stake in John Distilleries.
