Ryan Reynolds mocks Henry Cavill in Aviation Gin ad

Deadpool star Ryan Reynolds has released a new video to promote Aviation Gin in which he trolls the CGI removal of fellow superhero actor Henry Cavill’s moustache in Justice League.

The latest Aviation Gin clip from Ryan Reynolds pokes fun at actor Henry Cavil’s moustache

The latest clip released by Reynolds for the brand coincides with the launch of fundraising campaign Movember, which encourages men around the world to grow a moustache to raise awareness of male health issues.

In the 17-second clip, Reynolds can be seen with a moustache. He said: “Does drinking Aviation Gin make you feel like a superhero? I wouldn’t know.”

After taking a swig of his drink, Reynolds’ face is revealed once again with his moustache badly edited away – a dig at the “infamous” CGI removal of Henry Cavill’s moustache during post production for 2017 superhero movie Justice League. During filming for the film, Cavill was banned from shaving his moustache as the facial hair was needed for his character in Mission Impossible: Fallout, which was filmed at the same time.

Hitman’s Bodyguard actor Reynolds is no stranger to trolling his fellow superhero stars online. After years of joking feuds with Wolverine star Hugh Jackman, Reynolds released an ad that saw The Greatest Showman actor playfully mock Aviation Gin.

Reynolds acquired Oregon-made Aviation American Gin in February 2018 for an undisclosed sum. Since taking ownership of the brand, he has regularly published adverts and video clips for Aviation Gin across his social media platforms, including a compilation of abandoned slogans for the brand and a Father’s Day advert showing his commitment to Aviation Gin.
