The 2019 edition of Jura Rare Vintage 1988 was first aged in American white oak ex-Bourbon barrels before being transferred to Port pipes for a further five years. It is said to have notes of honey, baked apples, red fruits and toasted pistachios.
Bottled at 52.8% ABV without caramel colouring or chill-filtration, the 1988 vintage will also have an RRP of £650 per 700ml.
Gregg Glass, whisky maker and blender, said: “Jura has been in a unique position to create a history of single malts like no other.
“These releases are no exception and are a reflection of the dedication of our community over generations to produce the finest whiskies.
“Our rare and limited releases pay homage to the people and breathtaking landscape of Jura over the years, and offer our growing, global community the truly unique flavour of our island home.”
Earlier this year, Whyte & Mackay, which owns the Jura brand, unveiled a six-figure campaign in the UK, called Say Hello to Jura.
