ProWein hires new director

Düsseldorf-based ProWein has named Bastian Mingers director of the trade show, and global head for wine and spirits.

Bastian Mingers has been appointed the new director of trade fair ProWein

Mingers will step into the role on 1 April 2019 and will report to executive director and Messe Düsseldorf board member Michael Degen.

He will take over the role from Marius Berlemann, who will become the new general manager of the Shanghai subsidiary of Messe Düsseldorf, the company behind ProWein.

Berlemann will have project and HR responsibility for the company’s entire portfolio in China. He will “remain closely involved” with ProWine China and ProWine Asia and will promote “further expansion” of the group.

Mingers has previously worked with the ProWein team as a senior project manager from 2011 to 2015. He has a broad range of experience in managing projects, strategic development and implementation.

Since 2015, Mingers has led Energy Storage, an international trade fair for renewable energy.

“I am very much looking forward to the challenges that this new position will involve and am confident that I will be able to continue the strong growth of the ProWein portfolio,” said Mingers.

ProWein’s flagship Düsseldorf event, which marks 25 years of ProWein, will take place on 17-19 March 2019.

The next ProWine Asia is scheduled for 7-10 May 2019 in Hong Kong, followed by its sister ProWine Asia event in Singapore a year later, on 31 March-3 April 2020.
