Funkin launches hemp-flavoured syrup

Cocktail mixer producer Funkin has expanded its Pro range of syrups with the addition of the UK’s “first” hemp-flavoured variant.

Funkin Hemp Syrup claims to be the UK’s “first” hemp-flavoured syrup

Funkin Pro Hemp Syrup is said to have herbal and green tea notes, and is recommended to complement gin, Tequila, spiced rum and bitters.

It is made using UK-sourced hemp seed extract and has a “light green/ yellow” colour.

The hemp-flavoured syrup is available in cases of six 360ml bottles, at an RRP of £4 (US$5) per bottle and carries a two-year shelf life.

Ben Anderson, Funkin head of marketing, said: “Innovation is rooted in our DNA and we are always looking to introducing exciting new flavours and bring new dynamics into the ever-growing cocktail market. Funkin Pro Hemp Syrup is yet another example of us pushing boundaries.

“Funkin Pro Hemp Syrup adds a true point of difference from a flavour perspective, creates stand-out on a cocktail menu and drives talkability from a customer perspective.”

In October, Funkin created a range of ready-to-serve dried cocktail garnishes in a bid to help bars cut down on their costs and food waste.

Meanwhile, earlier this year, Funkin founder Alex Carlton moved into the non-alcoholic distilled ‘spirits’ market with the launch of Stryyk Not Rum and Stryyk Not Gin.
