Smokehead debuts ‘explosive’ Sherry Bomb whisky
By Melita KielyIan Macleod Distillers has added an “explosive” expression to its Smokehead Scotch whisky range – Smokehead Sherry Bomb.
Smokehead Sherry Bomb has been matured in oloroso Sherry casks
The “heavily peated” Islay single malt has been matured in oloroso Sherry casks before being bottled at 48% abv.
Described as “smoky, spicy and rich” in flavour, Smokehead Sherry Bomb has an RRP of £64.99 (US$83.50). It is available now in the UK and will be rolled out globally from November.
It comes packaged in a black bottle featuring a red skull and textured backgrounds, encased in a Smokehead Sherry Bomb tin.
Iain Weir, Smokehead brand director, said: “The whisky is more explosive than an Armada cannonball.
“It’s not for everyone, but if you’re after a bold, peaty whisky that’s been blasted by rich Sherry casks, then this is the delicious taste explosion you’ve been waiting for.”
Smokehead Sherry Bomb follows the launch of Smokehead High Voltage in April this year.
