Label 5 launches global street art activation

Blended Scotch whisky brand Label 5 has recruited five street artists from around the world to create a series of graffiti artworks for the latest instalment in its Power of 5 campaign.

Label 5’s street art tour forms part of the brand’s Power of 5 campaign

The La Martiniquaise-owned brand partnered with UK artist David Shillinglaw, who designed a colourful mural in London’s Brick Lane, which features floating hieroglyphics inspired by the number five.

Artist Rami Mouallem took inspiration from the busy nightlife of Lebanese capital Beirut for his piece, while in Mexico City, artists N30, Mocre and Mil Amores worked together to produce an installation depicting the solidarity that followed the earthquake that rocked Central Mexico in 2017.

In Hong Kong, Szabotage combined “vivid colour” with a “tongue-in-cheek” approach, and in Brussels, Arnaud Kool created “figurative abstraction” by merging characters into different elements of an imaginary landscape.

The 2018 Power of 5 street art world tour aims to bring the values of Label 5 to life: openness, energy and diversity.

To celebrate the campaign, Label 5 is hosting a live street art event in London today (20 July) in partnership with Graffiti Kings.
