Bacardi Legacy 2019 final heads to Amsterdam
Bacardi has revealed that the global final of the Bacardi Legacy 2019 cocktail competition will be held in Amsterdam.
The Bacardi Legacy 2019 competition will see 42 bartenders go head-to-head at the global final in Amsterdam
The Dutch capital city will make way for 42 bartenders in the global final in May 2019. The city is also home to 2018 champion Erik Van Beek, who stormed to success at the latest Bacardi Legacy final held in Mexico.
For the first time, bartenders are free to use the newly released Bacardi Añejo Cuatro rum in their cocktail creations.
“We can’t wait to bring the Bacardi Legacy to Amsterdam next year,” said Dickie Cullimore, Bacardi’s global brand ambassador.
“It is a perfect opportunity to celebrate and showcase a city that has a well established reputation as a destination for nightlife, but is now fast becoming one of Europe’s shining stars for cocktail culture and bartending.
“I am particularly looking forward to seeing how our entrants this year will use the new Bacardi Añejo Cuatro rum, which is aged under the Caribbean sun and brings a subtle new flavour profile to our portfolio for Legacy; I’m sure it will bring forth some interesting and delicious new ‘Legacy’ drinks next year.”
Bacardi is working with Van Beek to drive career development, which will include travel to the US and Asia. He will also be one of the judges at the 2019 global final.
