7UP launches cocktail mixing app

Soft drink brand 7UP is encouraging consumers to experiment with cocktails at home with its new digital bartending app.

The 7UP Digital Bartender includes recipes for more than 30 cocktails

7UP Digital Bartender can be accessed on any smartphone and will show drinkers how to craft more than 30 cocktails.

The app offers drinkers instructions and tutorial videos on how to make cocktails including the Mojito and Manhattan.

Kevin Brandvold, director of marketing for 7UP, said: “The Digital Bartender showcases 7UP’s versatility as a staple ingredient in classic cocktails and mocktails, and it is a tool we expect to build on throughout the year as we introduce new mixes.”

Recipes on the 7UP Digital Bartender app use simple ingredients consumers will have easy access to.

The app launches with 30 cocktail and mocktail recipes, including signature creations such as the 7UP Side-Down Cake, with plans to add more recipes in the coming months.

To download the 7UP Digital Bartender app, users can visit 7up.com/digitalbartender on any smartphone.

The new app from 7UP is part of a wider home-bartending trend, which a number of suppliers have aimed to capitalise on. Last year, drinks giant Diageo launched its Amazon Alexa voice-activated cocktail-making skill.
