Pinkster gin taps into bag-in-box trend
Raspberry-infused gin Pinkster is increasing its green credentials with the launch of a recyclable bag-in-box format: Pinkster on Tap.
Pinkster gin is now available in a three-litre recyclable bag-in-box format, called Pinkster on Tap
The three-litre bag-in-box concept was inspired by a desire to reduce glass waste in both the on- and off-trade, and has an RRP of £135 (US$190).
As well as the box, both the gin pouch and tap can be recycled.
In the UK alone, around 50% of glass bottles are recycled, according to figures from Recycle Now, leaving the UK behind the European average.
Pinkster hopes its new bag-in-box format will appeal to festival-goers this summer, as well as those looking to enjoy a gin and tonic outside, whether at sailing events or family picnics.
Stephen Marsh, managing director at Pinkster, said: “Bag-in-boxes have been enjoying a renaissance in the wine world, with many retailers reporting a surge in sales and we see no reason why this shouldn’t be the case with spirits.
“Pinkster on Tap is all about convenience and sustainability delivered in an eye-catching, stylish format. Rather than ordering bottle after bottle, the on-trade can now refuel in an environmentally friendly fashion and save a few pounds in the process.
“It’s time for bag-in-boxes to shed their rather negative and passé perceptions, and we’re proud as a premium brand to be leading the way on this.”
Pink gin has been growing in popularity over recent years, and just last week Beefeater announced its own pink variant.
But there are a myriad of other pink spirits out there to be enjoyed, as depicted in our top 10 captivating pink spirits.
