Lone Wolf adds single malt vodka and Gunpowder Gin to range

Brewdog-owned Lone Wolf Spirits has unveiled two new limited-edition expressions – Single Malt Barrel-Aged Vodka and Gunpowder Gin.

Lone Wolf barrel-aged vodka has spent 11 months in virgin American oak casks

The Scottish distillery unveiled the two small-batch releases, which are said to be “pushing the boundaries and stamping their own unique mark”.

Gunpowder Gin is a “57% abv juniper cannon firing a blast of Oriental peppery spice”.

The gin’s flavour comes from pink and Szechuan peppercorns, alongside a “wave of citrus” provided by Mexican pink grapefruit, Sicilian lemon and Paraguayan bitter orange.

Lone Wolf’s Single Malt Barrel-Aged vodka is a “single-minded vodka with a singular vision – to be a whiskey”.

The 100% malt barley vodka is aged in virgin American oak casks for 11 months, giving the unfiltered spirit “Bourbon-like warm vanilla and coconut notes”.

The Brewdog-owned brand began distilling spirits in 2016 after the company’s fourth round of crowdfunding provided the capital required to launch the distillery.

Lone Wolf unveiled its first spirits a year later, producing its vodka and gin using what is thought to be the world’s only triple bubble still and the tallest rectification column of any craft distiller in Europe.

The brand’s latest releases are on sale in 50cl bottles. Gunpowder Gin is bottled at 57%abv and is available for £30 (US$40) and Lone Wolf Single Malt Barrel-Aged Vodka is bottled at 42.7%abv and retails at £25 (US$33).

Both spirits are available in Brewdog bars or through the brand’s online shop at lonewolfspirits.com.
