Pinkster owner releases high-abv liqueurs range

Ginmeister, the parent company of Pinkster gin, has expanded its range with the launch of a small-batch line of fruit liqueurs, called Hedgepig.

The two new liqueurs “go easy on sugar levels” and have higher abvs

The collection will launch with two inaugural expressions: Wild Bullace and Quince, and Rampant Raspberry. Three more flavours will follow in 2018.

According to Stephen Marsh, managing director of Ginmeister, the new brand “heralds the start of an exciting new development for the business”.

He added: “Whilst Pinkster will always be the flagship brand, Hedgepig allows us to indulge our passion for making gin with fresh fruit to create a range of unusual handcrafted liqueurs.”

Hedgepig will launch “limited seasonal bottlings” featuring “quirky” ingredients packaged with an “eye-catching” design.

“We’ll go easy on sugar levels and the abvs will be on the higher side,” said Marsh.

The Wild Bullace and Quince expression (30% abv) was previously launched as the brand QB in September last year. The liqueur is made from Suffolk quince and bullace foraged from the hedgerows of East Anglia.

Rampant Raspberry (33% abv) is produced with raspberries from nearby Sunclose Farm, which also provides raspberries for Pinkster gin.

Both liqueurs are available in 50cl bottles with an RRP of £40 (US$53).
