Ireland’s Dingle Distillery is on track to double its spirits production in 2018 and expects to sell 250,000 bottles of its gin this year.

With the increase in demand, the distillery expects to sell 250,000 bottles of gin, up from 100,000 last year.

The distillery has also installed a new gin still, which is expected to begin production early next year.

The Dingle Distillery began an investment drive through the EIIS initiative, which offers individuals a chance to invest in the company.

Last month, the distillery launched two new limited edition whiskies – Batch No.2 Single Malt and its first pot still whiskey. The company plans to launch its next release, Batch No.3 Single Malt, in March 2018.

“The investment will allow us to rapidly scale up our production capacity by several orders of magnitude to meet the enormous international market demand for our gin, whiskey and vodka brands,” said Elliot Hughes, partner at The Dingle Distillery.

“We plan to double our production of spirits next year and expand aggressively in the North American market. We also have advanced plans to develop a state-of-the-art visitor centre at the distillery in Dingle, which will be developed into one of Ireland’s premier tourist experiences.’’

Co-founder and managing director of The Dingle Distillery, Liam LaHart, added: “The only problem we have had is producing enough whiskey, gin and vodka to meet the demand that’s out there. Gin has really taken off in the last two or three years and Irish whiskey is now the fastest selling spirit in the world.”

In 2012, Hughes, who founded the Porterhouse microbrewery and pub chain, opened the Dingle Whiskey Distillery, which is thought to be the first purpose-built distillery for new whiskey in Ireland for over 200 years.
