Teeling Whiskey adds to wine-focused Brabazon range

Teeling Whiskey has released Brabazon Bottling, Series 2: the second edition in its “full-flavoured” Brabazon range, which explores the influence of fortified wines on Irish whiskey.

Focusing on the maturation effect of ex-Port casks, the Series 2 bottling contains a range of vintages, sizes and styles of Port cask-matured and finished single malt whiskey.

“Our aim with our Brabazon Bottling Series is to create full bodied tasting experiences for people who enjoy the added complexity and taste that fortified wine maturation imparts,” said Jack Teeling, founder and managing director of Teeling Whiskey.

“At the same time, our new bottling continues our goal to expand the spectrum of flavours available from premium Irish whiskeys.

“The response to our first release exceeded our expectations so we are very excited to see the reaction to our Series 2 Port Cask Bottling.” ”

The name Brabazon comes from a family synonymous with a trading square in the Liberties area of Dublin.

From the 16th to 19th centuries, the area attracted generations of tradesmen, including Walter Teeling who set up the original Teeling distillery nearby in 1782.

The liquid is presented in a clear white flint embossed and debossed Teeling Whiskey bottle. Limited to 12,500 bottles, Series 2 is bottled at 49.5% with no chill filtration.

It will be available in the Teeling Whiskey Distillery, Celtic Whiskey Shop, Dublin Airport and independent retailers within Ireland, at the recommended retail price of €78 per 700ml.

Brabazon Bottling, Series 2 will be rolled out to the Benelux, France, Germany, Switzerland, Russia, Australia and select Asian markets in due course.
