Vodka inspired by Tom of Finland launches in the UK

Spirit of Tom has launched a super-premium vodka in the UK in tribute to Finnish artist Tom of Finland and his influence on late 20th century gay culture.

Tom of Finland Organic Vodka celebrates Finnish artist Touko Laaksonen aka Tom of Finland

Tom of Finland Organic Vodka celebrates the life and art of Finnish-born Touko Laaksonen aka Tom of Finland, who was widely regarded for his highly masculinised homoerotic fetish art.

Described as “bold but smooth”, the new expression is crafted from organically grown wheat, rye and pure arctic water.

The bottle reflects the “daring and playful” character of the art associated with Tom of Finland and his representation of the male figure.

A percentage of profit from each bottle will be donated to the Tom of Finland Foundation, a charity dedicated to promoting tolerant attitudes towards sexuality and the preservation of erotic art.

The launch coincides with the release of biographical film Tom of Finland, directed by Finnish director Dome Karukoski. The film features Niklas Hogner, Tom of Finland Organic Vodka’s brand ambassador, who plays Kake.

Olli Hietalahti, CEO of Spirit of Tom said: “We wanted to create a super premium Finnish vodka that truly embodies Tom of Finland – something bold, daring, flirtatious and playful, just like the artist’s renowned work.”

Tom of Finland Organic Vodka is available from specialist spirit retailers Gerry’s Wines & Spirits and Master of Malt for a RRP of £32.50/50cl and wholesalers including Venus Wine & Spirit Merchants.
