Lakes Distillery wins Manchester Airport listing

Cumbria-based The Lakes Distillery has continued to expand its travel retail network with a World Duty Free listing for its flagship gin at Manchester Airport Terminal 1.

The Lakes Gin is now available at Manchester T1

The Lakes Gin will be available from the Dufry Group-owned travel retailer from May 2017 onwards.

“Our expansion and brand awareness is continuing to grow at such a strong pace with not only The Lakes Gin but our whole family of spirits,” said Nigel Mills, chairman of The Lakes Distillery.

“We are excited to be taking to the stage in World Duty Free. It is perfect timing to join forces with Manchester Airport, working closely together to drive the airport as the Gateway to Cumbria and The Lakes Distillery.”

Manchester Airport handles around 25 million passengers per year and serves destinations across Europe, the Americas, Asia, the Middle East and Africa.

Stephen Ma, liquor, tobacco and food trading manager at the store, added: “I am very excited in seeing another addition to our premium gin range.

“With the Lake District being a major tourist attraction and Manchester Terminal 1 having the exclusivity in selling a multi-award-winning product, The Lakes Gin and will be a great parting gift for the customer’s onward journey.”

Earlier this month The Lakes Distillery announced it had secured travel retail listings with Gebr. Heinemann and Dufry at key locations in Australian and New Zealand Airports.
