Lakes Distillery and Fairmont St Andrews give whisky to golfers

Cumbria’s The Lakes Distillery and luxury hotel Fairmont St Andrews have teamed up to offer golfers a 50ml bottle of The One British Blended Whisky.

7,000 miniature bottles of the whisky will be stocked at the Scottish course from May and offered to golfers free of charge.

The bottled have been dual labeled and personalised with the message ‘Enjoy your round at St Andrews’.

There will also be repurposed hogshead Sherry cask from the distillery out on the course detailing maps that show where The Lakes Distillery is and how to visit.

The activities are the first in an ongoing partnership between The Lakes Distillery and Fairmont St Andrews.

“The welcome golfers get is so important to us,” said Amy Yeates, director of golf at Fairmont St Andrews.

“We strive to make their experience at Fairmont St. Andrews memorable and feel that offering them a bottle of the award winning The One whisky will certainly do that.”

Nigel Mills, chairman of The Lakes Distillery, added: “As an avid lover of golf, The Lakes Distillery is proud to partner with a world class resort celebrating heritage and innovation.

“The Fairmont St Andrews, just like The Lakes Distillery, is steeped with a great history and the highest of industry accolades.”

Earlier this month The Lakes Distillery announced UK supermarket Asda had listed its vodka, gin and whisky in 18 stores in the North West.
