Claridge’s to host week-long Dead Rabbit pop-up

The team behind renowned New York bar The Dead Rabbit Grocery and Grog will travel to London this summer for a week-long residency at Mayfair hotspot Claridge’s.

Sean Muldoon and Jack McGarry, the duo who founded The Dead Rabbit, which was named World’s Best Bar at the 2015 Spirited Awards, will recreate the New York haunt’s second floor ‘Parlor’ at the Claridge’s Bar from 15-22 August 2017.

Guests at Claridge’s will be able to enjoy Dead Rabbit cocktails, including the celebrated Irish Coffee serve, and specialities from the food menu such as Lobster devilled eggs and Cumberland sausage rolls.

Signature atmospheric elements from the Lower Manhattan bar will also be recreated in the Mayfair hotel, including the ragtime piano playing, welcome drink, comic book menu and New York-style service.

“We both used to work at The Merchants hotel in Belfast, so hotel life is in our blood,” said McGarry.

“We’re looking forward to taking up residence in London and bringing some Dead Rabbit magic to such a prestigious address as Claridge’s.”

Denis Broci, director of bars at Claridge’s, added: “We are honoured to be welcoming Sean and Jack and the Dead Rabbit team for their first pop-up in London.

“We are sure they will create their own distinct level of excitement and New York edginess not often seen here in Mayfair!”

While not a full-on pop-up, cocktails from The Dead Rabbit were served in London for two weeks last year through a partnership with Big Easy Covent Garden.
