Burleighs launches Leicester Dry Gin

UK gin producer Burleighs is set to launch a new variant in homage to the city of Leicester and its football club, called Burleighs Leicester Dry Gin.

Created by Burleighs Gin master distiller, Jamie Baxter, Leicester Dry Gin “is distilled with botanicals and flavours steeped in the history of Leicestershire food and drink”.

On the nose, it is described as “crisp, fresh and vibrant with warming spice and bright citrus top notes”, while on the palate it it has an “abundance of juniper” followed by nutmeg, citrus zest and herbs.

Launched in 2014, the Burleighs gin range includes London Dry, Export Strength, Distillers Cut, and Pink Edition.

An early limited number of bottles are available from 10am on Wednesday 22 March at 45 West Bottle Shop & Bar in Leicester and online.

It will then be available from the Leicester City Fan Store from Friday 24 March at an RRP of £35.

In December last year, Diageo enlisted Leicester City footballer Wes Morgan as a brand ambassador for its rum brand Captain Morgan.

The sponsorship deal follows the player’s appearance on a limited edition bottle of the Caribbean rum to commemorate Leicester’s success in the Premier League in May.
