Glen Moray marks 120 years of whisky
La Martiniquaise-Bardinet-owned single malt Scotch distillery Glen Moray is marking its 120th anniversary in 2017 with the release of Mastery, an expression made with vintage spirit from different decades.

The release was created by fifth master distiller Graham Coull, using whisky from five different vintages matured in a variety of wine casks.
Further details on the expression are expected later this month.
Glen Moray first distilled whisky on 13 September 1897. Since then just five men have held the role of master distiller at the site.
The distillery started life as the Elgin West Brewery in 1830 and produced a number of ales before its conversion.
The Glen Moray Glenlivet Distillery Company was formed in 27 January 1897, and handwritten ledgers record the first spirit from the stills on 13 September.
Production was constricted during World War One, the 1930s and World War Two, but expansion ensued in the 1950s.
Further expansion took place in 2015, with production at Glen Moray has increased to 6.5 million litres of alcohol per year. The addition of maturation warehouses have upped storage capacity to 250,000 barrels.
