By Amy HopkinsGordon & MacPhail has launched a limited edition bottling of its Benromach single malt Scotch whisky brand that was distilled in 1973.
Benromach Heritage 1973 is priced £1,395Just 52 bottles of Benromach Heritage 1973 will be launched exclusively in the UK market at an RRP of £1,395.
Bottled at 48.1% abv, the expression hails from cask number 4606 – a refill American hogshead that offers “hints of chocolate and a peppery smooth finish”.
“Benromach 1973 is very much a dram to be treasured. It was crafted with great care using many of the same skills and practises adopted at Benromach today,” said Benromach distillery manager Keith Cruichshank.
“It’s been maturing for 42 years, but now is the time for whisky lovers to savour this precious single malt. I’m sure those who really take their whisky seriously will enjoy the chance to experience a little bit of Benromach history.”
The whisky is now available from UK whisky retailers.
Last month, Benromach launched a new scheme offering international trade customers the opportunity to bottle a single cask of its whisky and customise the packaging.
