The Spirit Show will feature a number of organic and speciality spirits
Set to take place at The Business Design Centre from 9-10 December, consumer event The Spirit Show will bring together hundreds of brands under one roof.
Among them will be the world’s “first” organic spirits from London & Scottish International, Juniper Green Organic Gin and Utkins UK5 Organic Vodka, first launched in 1999. The wider range also includes Organic Papagayo Rums and Highland Harvest Malt Scotch Whiskies, with the collection suitable for both vegetarians and vegans.
“As innovators ourselves we are delighted to join The Spirit Show which look set to become a regular part of the London Christmas social scene,” commented Chris Parker of London and Scottish.
Leading the speciality spirit line-up will be Zeca de Matos, an aged cachaça brand founded by the Matos family. They left their home in Portugal to travel to Brazil and start the brand.
“The magic is in the land,” said family member Madalena Matos, referring to the combination of soil quality, altitude, natural water and sunlight conditions all chip in to produce the raw sugar cane. The crop is harvested and then transported by oxen-drawn carts to the pressing room, with the resulting liquid distilled in copper stills and aged in Brazilian mahogany barrels. The result is a “full-flavoured, fruity yet earthy” cachaça suited for use in a variety of cocktails.
The Spirit Show organisers are expecting an audience of more than 10,000 visitors at the event. Participants will be able to taste the range of spirits on show and enjoy a meal at the Street Food Village, where a range of foods will be on offer.
