Whiskey Union debuts ‘unique’ new blend
Diageo’s “experimental whisky collective” has unveiled a new blended expression, Huxley Rare Genus Whiskey, comprising Scotch, Canadian and American drams.
Huxley Rare Genus Whiskey is the third offering from the Whiskey Union label
Following Whiskey Union’s launch in November last year, the team behind the project are readying to debut their newest expression, Huxley Rare Genus Whiskey.
Designed to “take whiskey drinkers into uncharted territory”, Huxley combines Scotch, Canadian and American whiskies to result in a “unique blend even greater than the sum of its parts”.
The whiskey is named in honour of celebrated 19th century anatomist T. H. Huxley, and the label features a ‘Mobsprey’ – a mythical hybrid beast combining characteristics of Scottish, Canadian and American animals.
As with its Whiskey Union’s first two launches, Smoky Goat and Boxing Hares, Huxley will initially be made available in on-trade markets in Germany and Austria.
