Halewood International unveils new spirits line
Independent UK drinks producer Halewood International has launched a new ‘craft spirits range’ inspired by the British countryside, called JJ Whitley.
JJ Whitley is a new spirits brand produced by Halewood International
Said to tap into demand among younger consumers for “new flavour combinations within the spirits category”, the range will be available throughout the UK on-trade.
It features two gins – JJ Whitley London Dry Gin and Elderflower Gin – and two vodkas – JJ Whitley Potato Vodka and Rhubarb Vodka.
JJ Whitley London Dry Gin contains eight different botanicals, while JJ Whitley Elderflower Gin contains real elderflower extract and cinnamon. The JJ Whitley Potato Vodka is made with 100% potatoes and JJ Whitley Rhubarb Vodka contains natural rhubarb extract.
The range’s bottle design is said to communicate “quality and authenticity” and provide “significant” shelf stand-out on the back bar.
JJ Whitley is named after Whitley family, who began creating fine spirits in Daresbury, Cheshire in 1762. Each bottle in the range is bottled at 38.6% abv.
“The JJ Whitley range was developed in response to increasing consumer demand for quality, versatile liquids which can be used as a base for a variety of drinks, including cocktails,” a Halewood International spokesperson said.
“The variety, quality and flavour combinations in the JJ Whitley range will also encourage consumers to trade up, and will allow operators to provide a greater and more curious range of drinks.”
Earlier this month, Halewood International acquired a 50% stake in The Pogues Irish Whiskey, with band members retaining ownership of the remaining 50% of the brand.
