New 1800 Tequila bottles feature Haring art
Proximo Spirits has honoured the late artist Keith Haring by selecting six of his designs to adorn a limited run of 1800 Tequila bottles.
Haring’s art often conveyed messages about socio-political themes
Haring has been selected as the sole artist for the seventh release of the Essential Artists collaboration, which sees the of work iconic designers featured on a series of special edition 1800 Tequila bottles.
Over the years, art by Jean Michel Basquiat, Gary Baseman, Studio One, and Shepard Fairey has graced the bottles, selected for being “influential and inventive” within their respective genres.
Haring was renowned for using bright colours and bold lines in his work, which often conveyed messages raising awareness about socio-political themes, such as AIDS, drugs and violence.
Made from 100% blue agave, the Tequila is double-distilled and matured in American oak barrels for 15 days, before it is blended with aged reserves and bottled at 40% abv.
The new 1800 Tequila Essential Artists series will be available across the US at the RRP of US$30 per bottle.
