Talisker expands permanent range with Skye
By Amy HopkinsDiageo has added a new permanent expression to its Talisker Scotch whisky brand which pays homage to the Isle of Skye.
Talisker Skye has joined Scotch whisky brand’s permanent range
Talisker Skye is said to “capture the essence” of the Isle of Skye, the Scottish island where the single malt distillery is based.
The no-age-statement whisky is comprised of liquid from a combination of toasted and refill American oak casks.
Thought to add a “smoky sweet proposition” to the range, Talisker Skye is described as having a flavour of salted caramel, barbeque, smoke and spice which complement the staple “Maritime style” of the distillery.
“We’re extremely passionate about both our whiskies and home, the Isle of Skye, and see this whisky as the perfect way of celebrating this,” said Stuart Harrington, distillery manager of Talisker.
“Our master blenders worked tirelessly to create an expression that embodies Skye’s wild beauty – and we’re delighted with the end product; it’s Skye in a bottle.”
Talisker Skye will be available later this year from whisky specialists and major grocery stores at an RRP of £33.
In 2013, Talisker launched its Dark Storm extension in travel retail, claiming this was its smokiest whisky to-date.
