Camus unveil $13,500 Cuvee 5.150 Cognac
Independent Cognac producer Camus has unveiled a new limited edition – the Camus Cuvee 5.150, which comes with a US$13,500 price tag.

The fifth edition in Camus’ Masterpiece Collection, has been launched to celebrate the company’s 150th anniversary.
Only 1,492 have been made available for sale, with each bottled in an individually numbered Baccarat crystal decanter and presented in a gift box along with two tasting glasses.
The edition blends five rare eaux-de-vie from from five Cognac growing regions, including Grande Champagne, Petite Champagne, Fin Bois, Bon Bois and Borderies Cognacs.
Company president Cyril Camus launched the Camus Cuvee 5.150 at the SCM Culinary School in New York’s SoHo district this week.
“We are the youngest company and we’re growing throughout the world,” he told Forbes.com. “Today we are finally here in New York.”
The first 150 decanters contain an additional individually-numbered 100ml sample taken by the cellar master just before the decanters were filled, and that are usually reserved for the Camus Cognac library.
The last Cognac released in the Masterpiece Collection was the Camus 3.140 Cuvee in April 2012, which came with a price tag of $5,000 a bottle. Only 950 decanters were released.
Camus is now the world’s 5th biggest producer of Cognac. The four larger producers are all owned by conglomerates, making Camus the largest independently owned Cognac producer in the world. In 2012, the company reached sales of €150million.
