Penelope Cruz revealed in Campari Calendar shoot

Penelope Cruz is to be the star of Campari’s 2013 Calendar, and to celebrate the classic spirit has revealed a number of candid behind-the-scenes photographs of her shoot.

The Spanish actress, famous for roles in Pirates of the Caribbean and Vanilla Sky, plays the starring role in Campari’s latest calendar, which from appearances seems to be the least risqué so far.

Cruz’s demure, couture red dresses in these behind-the-scenes shots are a world apart from the skimpy outfits worn by other Campari calendar girls in recent years.

Actress Salma Hayek appeared in 2007 in a very low-cut black number; supermodel Elena Rosenkova was snapped in 2005 wearing little more than boots, red knickers and a sword; actress Eva Mendes looked hot in a sparkling gown slit up to the thigh; former Miss Italia Martina Colombari was dressed in a ruffled skirt and baroque wig with little on her upper half; and fashion model Ralitza Baleva wore nothing but a hula-hoop, with just a bottle shot slightly covering her modesty in 2001.

Paris-based photographer Kristian Schuller is the man behind the camera, and will select 13 images of the star to feature in the 2012 Calendar.

Dozens of photos showing Schuller’s team on-set preparing the styling, special effects, set design, make up and couture have been released.

But Penelope fans will have to wait until this Autumn to see the final photos, when the closely-guarded theme for the calendar will be revealed at a launch event in Milan.
