Rare Grant’s Scotch now available outside travel retail
Grant’s 25 year-old Scotch whisky has just been made available outside the global travel retail sector.
Previously only available in a selection of airports, the ultra premium blend will be available, in limited quantities, in select on-trade venues and a few premium off-trade outlets across the world.
The spirit will be rolled out in five domestic markets, namely Russia, Taiwan, UK, France and Lebanon. A total of 3,500 bottles will be made available for sale this year.
Some of the 25 individual grain and malt whiskies blended together – including the first ever whisky laid down at Grant’s Girvan distillery – are finite in quantity, meaning that while the blend will continue to be made, it will not always contain the same rare base spirits.
Grant’s 25 year-old was originally made to celebrate the centenary of founder William Grant’s son-in-law, Charles Gordon, setting off to introduce Grant’s to the international market.
Brian Kinsman, master blender at Grant’s, said: “My challenge was to create a Scotch whisky that tells in the glass the remarkable story of a family’s passion and dedication to their cause; generation after generation. We’re fortunate at Grant’s that I’m able to draw on some fantastic aged and rare whiskies at our distillery to create something really quite exceptional”.
The whisky is presented in a box with engraved metalwork and retails for £182. It will continue to be available in the GTR sector at: Aelia, Aer Rianta Russia, Autogrill Europe, Belgo-lux Travel, Caribbean, China Duty Free, Hans Just, Switzerland Travel, Heinemann, Dufry Europe, Indian Sub Continent DF, Nuance Group Europe, Sky Connection, Taiwan Duty Free, Aer Rianta Middle East, Middle East Travel. Nuance Australia, DFS Singapore.
