Patrón changes distributor in Turkey

Patrón Spirits International has changed its Turkish distributors from Karagozoglu to bT for its range of high-end tequilas.

bT, described as “one of the oldest and largest spirits importers in Turkey” by Patrón, will make the luxury portfolio available to consumers across the country, with a specific focus on high-end, on- and off-trade venues in key locations, in keeping with the brand’s image.

Patrón and bT will work together to promote the portfolio in Turkey through consumer education, events and signature cocktails.

John McDonnell, COO of Patrón Spirits International, commented: “Turkey’s economy is growing quickly, and its population is young and urban – important factors that contribute to the country’s increasing appetite for high-end imported spirits.

“bT’s knowledge and understanding of the market, together with their impressive history of building successful wine and spirits brands, makes them an ideal partner for us in this rapidly expanding Mediterranean market.”

Burak Tureci, chairman of bT, added: “Patrón has brought a fantastic synergy to our premium brand portfolio.”

bT’s portfolio includes Glenthroes, Belvedere, Russian Standard, Moët & Chandon, Cutty Sark, Hennessy, Drambuie, Amarula, Dom Perignon, Veuve Clicquot, Krug and Fleur du Cap.
