Writers Tears secures Australian distribution
Walsh Whiskey Distillery has named Spirits Platform as the distributor of its Irish whiskey brand Writers Tears across Australia.
Spirits Platform will distribute Writers Tears whiskey across Australia
The agreement consolidates the full Walsh Whiskey Distillery portfolio in Australia with Spirits Platform, which has distributed The Irishman whiskey range since mid-2016.
Walsh Whiskey Distillery managing director Bernard Walsh said: “Since launching The Irishman range last year, Spirits Platform has shown great passion and ambition to grow our presence in the Australian market and we look forward to them sharing that same vision for our Writers Tears expressions over the coming years.”
Ian Atherton, CEO of Spirits Platform, added: “With the renewed interest in premium Irish whiskey in the market, the contemporary style of Writers Tears is a fantastic complement to our growing premium whiskey portfolio and supports the work we are currently doing with The Irishman whiskey.”
Earlier this month, Walsh Whiskey Distillery pinned down listings for Irish whiskey brands The Irishman Founder’s Reserve and Writers Tears Red Head in British retailer Marks & Spencer.
