WhiskyMarketPlace expands internationally4th May, 2012 by Marinel FitzSimons
Search and price comparison site, WhiskyMarketPlace, has extended its reach internationally as part of a planned expansion programme.
The programme, which launched in November last year, will be registered to regional domains in 20 countries across the world by the end of this month. Prices will be shown in local currencies, and the sites will be in the national language of the host country, unless English is the official business language.
WhiskyMarketPlace has over 4,000 whiskies listed in its archives for price comparison, ranging from major brands to boutique producers, limited editions and rare expressions.
Pierre Thiebaut, director of WhiskyMarketplace, said: “Whisky aficionados are intent on searching for their favourites as well as rarities at the best prices. From our original UK website, we could track the traffic and successful purchases from online retailers which participate on WhiskyMarketplace, coming from as far as New Zealand.
“We are constantly refining WhiskyMarketplace and are looking ahead to involving overseas based retailers. This would expand the current list of 4,000 whiskies featured and offer an even more competitive international market to benefit consumer and trade buyers of limited edition foreign bottlings, especially. We have had many overseas retailers contacting us at WhiskyMarketplace and we are keenly exploring new relationships and testing credentials and pricing.”
By the end of the month, WhiskyMarketplace will be available in France, Russia, Spain, Germany, Netherlands, Belgium, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, Canada, Brazil, Japan, Taiwan, Singapore, Hong Kong and India.
